Never Give Up!
Dear Friends,
God has appointed us to live in this critical prophetic hour. Never underestimate the impact one life, surrendered to Him, can have on countless others. History reveals that the Lord raises up key leaders in times of crisis, positioning them for His sovereign purposes.
Sir Winston Churchill took three years to successfully complete eighth grade. He experienced great difficulty learning English. Ironically, many years later, Oxford University invited him to offer their commencement address!
Churchill’s message proved to be not only the briefest, but also the most stirring and captivating speech ever given before the esteemed institution!
Churchill approached the admiring and enthusiastic graduating class with his signature cigar, cane and top hat. Looking attentively at his audience, Churchill,
in a thundering voice cried out, “Never give up!” A long silence ensued, enabling
the audience to hear a pin drop! Then Churchill shouted again with great conviction and passion: “Never give up!”
It was as though the graduates — hanging onto every word — were struck with lightning! They were inspired to the very core! With that, Sir Winston stepped away from the podium to resounding applause!
At the time of England’s darkest hour in the Second World War, when defeat seemed imminent, Winston Churchill singlehandedly roused an entire nation with the words "Never give in, never, never, never, never — in nothing, great or small, large or petty." “We shall never surrender!” His indomitable spirit, deep conviction and potent words stood as a beacon of hope, inspiring an entire nation and calling them to prayer! This was Winston Churchill’s legacy! His words are still resonating throughout history.
Consider this: if one man can so profoundly impact a nation, how much more could millions of Spirit-filled, born-again believers influence our country for Christ through the bold proclamation of the Gospel? Scripture gives us the powerful example of the Apostle Paul — a man wholly surrendered to God. His life was marked by obedience, purity of heart, and a simple yet unwavering faith. With steadfast determination, unshakable commitment, and resilient resolve, Paul stood as a faithful witness for Jesus Christ. Through this willing vessel, the Lord moved mightily, forever transforming the world!
How much more, then, can the Lord do through His unified Church, ablaze with the Holy Spirit and fully yielded to His purposes? Let us reflect on God’s great and precious promises:
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to
you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ
and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message
and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's
power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
2 Chronicles 15:7
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.
Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give
up.
Hebrews 11:16
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that
he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
May the Lord richly bless you in doing His will! I hope you all will enjoy a very restful and peaceful summer!
God bless,
Pastor Paul
